[Upcoming Movie] Ratatouille Podcasts

Some new goodies have been popping up on the internet lately giving us some behind the scenes peeks into this upcoming Pixar film.

First off, we get a look at how the animators tackled the cooking element of this film in “Cooking 101″

This clip features the first we’ve seen of Gusteau- the chef who the restaurant is named after- and Remy’s visions of his idol chef speaking to him. You can check the clip out via Disney.com: HERE.

The second podcast, as you can probably guess by it’s name “The Technical Ingredients,” focuses on some of the background work they did to get this movie to work on a technical level. One part that really caught my attention is their study of wet clothing and how it sticks to the body. It also has two of the voice actors: Brian Dennehy (“Django”) and Patton Oswalt (“Remy”) talking about the movie.

You can check it out HERE. It might take a bit to load, but it’s very much worth the watch.

P.S. Make sure to keep an eye out for the following tidbits:

With the higher resolution on this podcast, you can see more of the background details. During the clip of Linguini jumping into the Seine river after Remy- you can see the Rose Window of Notre Dame’s Cathedral in the background.

Also, look for the Syndrome figure being used to see how the water in the aquarium reacts to something falling into it. XD

[Upcoming Movie] Ratatouille trailer & behind the scenes interviews

Ratatouille (pronounced, as the handy guide on the posters tells you, as rat-a-too-ee) is the upcoming film by the CG masters of Pixar animation. After tackling toys, bugs, fish, monsters, superheroes, and cars- the studio has moved onto the setting of Paris, France and the humans and rodents that inhabit it.

Remy & Linguini

Summary: A rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely – and certainly unwanted – visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy’s passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.
